1960 Rathmann Xterminator Go Kart
This auction is for an original, one-owner Rathmann Xterminator Racing Go Kart.
Purchased new in 1960 in Colorado, it has been in storage since the early 1970s.
It is complete, but has not been running since that time.
Overall, very good condition; frame is excellent (no cracks);
seat upholstery is split, but is complete.
Firestone "Micro 500" tires are intact but are original, so the rubber is aged.
Saetta 12 H.P. engine (complete with technical manuals)
An excellent vintage go-kart that is extremely rare in this condition.

Indianapolis-type steering wheel
Indianapolis-type upholstered seat
Tear-drop gas tank (seat mount)

Aluminum wheels with original Firestone Micro "500" tires
Scrub brakes with cast aluminum shoes
Includes original Rathmann/Temco Industrial Serial Tag (see photo)
Original purchase price was 00 for this setup.
Have searched the Internet and only found a couple of these in collections, or for sale
so it seems that this is an extremely rare piece of 1960s racing/go kart history
that doesn't appear for auction often.
Go Kart remains in storage at this time.

Was asked about the motor; it is a Saetta V12 Rotary valve engine; single cylinder; two-cycle; 97.67cc; with DELL'ORTO (DELLORTO) carburetor. Please look at the newly posted photos of the cover of the included engine manual to see the V12 on the cover, and the engine schematic.
