Century Brass Ships Horn for Signaling from Ship to Ship
Solid-brass, soldered joints
A manual operated horn to signal from ship to ship
Attributed to a Capt. Charles S. Sisson of Mystic River, Conn.
It could also have been a fog horn to blow when a compressed air system fails
This antique brass piece is a good looking marine safety system as well as exuding a classic look
It stands approximately 24" tall and 4 1/2" at its horn and weighs less than 1 pound
“PATENTED” is stamped on reed
CONDITION
Good to very good
Clean
No marked or damages noted
I could not get the horn to give a sound, so not sure if its me or the horn
