Vintage 1938 Singer Featherweight 221-1 Sewing Machine—Excellent Condition

I have had several of these Singer Featherweight sewing machines cross my estate sale picking path over the past couple of years and this one is the best.  I continue to be amazed at how well these machines held up over the years and even more amazed how well they were cared for.  This one dates to 1937 towards the end of the depression and had to have been quite an investment for the household during those times so it was well taken care of.
This machine is a model 221-1 and has serial number AF 088376 which means it has a commission date of October 8, 1937.  It is in excellent condition, even the case is excellent with minimal wear and tear.
Details on the machine itself:
-excellent with minimal scratching on the table
-Shiny beautiful finish
-Tested & runs.  Did not sew anything on it however
-Scroll face piece
-Bobbin carrier in place
-Pedal works fine, however the wiring has been replaced at some point.
-Only bummer is that the owner (probably the original) etched her name "Opal Mundorf" on the side of the machine (see picture).  I even checked out the obituary and found that she was 94. (useless information-I was hoping that she was someone famous)

-Excellent, with just one little spot on the lower back where a little of the leatherette is chipped
-Latches both work fine
-Inside is clean and nice
-Handle leather has seen better days but the handle has been repaired, so no worries on carrying the machine with the handle
