Vintage K-Tel Knitter: 2 Needles and Instruction Book

2 VINTAGE 1964 K-TEL KNITTERS WITH INSTRUCTION BOOKLET
According to the booklet that comes with this unusual knitting needle, the Knitter is “a revolutionary new method of knitting and crocheting with one needle.”

There are two needles the come with the book.
They are similar but one needle has a smaller opening (for thinner yarn?) than the other.
Both needles are blue plastic with two red plastic extensions on them (see photo).
They measure about 6 ½” long and, as far as I can tell, are in perfect condition.
(Have to admit I’m not a knitter and know nothing about how to use these!
At least there’s an instruction booklet!)

The booklet measures about 10” x 8” and has 24 numbered pages.

The booklet shows how to do basic stitches and has instructions with color photos of different projects.

While the booklet has no rips, stains or writing, it hasn’t been stored flat and there is some creasing.
It is still totally usable, though.

The only date I can find on it is on the last page where it indicates the distribution centers and the one in Canada has 1964 in parentheses.
Looking at the photos, that sounds about right.
